Messages from Deep Down

A pretty young lady, of about mid to late twenties, stands on stage at a town hall in Southampton, not that far from London, England, she talks to another younger and pretty lady with similar facial features, who would appear to be in her very late teens or early twenties. The first lady, nervously plays with her wedding ring, and then is embraced by the second younger lady. There are two other young men on stage, going through data on i-pads, then all four take their seats on stage. The two ladies are sitting in the middle two chairs, the two young gentlemen are on the outer two seats, and a desk is in front of them. The town hall is packed with TV reporters, TV cameras, newspaper reporters, photographers, people wearing official uniforms of one sort or another, some in business suits, and many of the general public, ….all are nervously talking amongst themselves. There are numerous people outside who could not get inside the building, however, all are there eagerly awaiting further news of the crew on-board the Snarling Lobster. In allowance for the multitude of concerned citizens, a speaker system and video screen had also been hastily set-up outside the building. There are countless red eyes in the audience, tissues being used, not only by the female variety, but by people of all walks of life, as the anticipation grows and opinions are being offered to one another. There are nine microphones on the desk, mainly in front of the slightly older girl, she straightens the paperwork in front of her. She begins: ‘Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Charlotte Alexander, and today we would like to share with you what we know of the whereabouts of the Snarling Lobster and her crew. Joining me today, are Isabelle and Max to my left, and Jackson to my right. Together we are the team, which has become to be known as the ‘Media Centre’, in support of the quest undertaken by the crew of the Snarling Lobster. Firstly we would like to thank all who have given coverage to this particular venture, you the media have provided great support, ….we thank all those who have followed the endeavors of the crew, those that have followed not only via main stream media, but also via social media, or by any means that they could. We thank you all for your ongoing support. We confirm that the EPIRB beacon of distress was activated, meaning that the vessel was taking on water in severe seas, at approximately 1.44am Tuesday 25 July Central Pacific time. Despite repeated calls from the Media Centre to the vessel, they could not be raised by ourselves, ....
