Aideen McGinley is Chair of Galway European Capital of Culture 2020 and a Trustee of the Carnegie UK Trust. She was formerly a National Trustee for Northern Ireland on the BBC Trust, CEO of ILEX Urban Regeneration Company and served at the most senior levels in Central and Local Government in Northern Ireland. She has been involved in a wide range of community and voluntary organisations and initiatives, locally and nationally in the U.K. and was awarded an OBE by the Queen and an honorary degree from the University of Ulster.
She is a Jury member on the UK city of culture 2021 and an associate of Future search Philadelphia working on whole system approaches to finding common ground and action planning on a wide range of issues from poverty and peace building to leadership and wellbeing. She is involved in the two charities that are supported by this book namely The Aisling Centre and Habitat for Humanity with whom she is developing a POOJA Bear project in New Delhi. The book has successfully been the focus of workshops in schools, libraries and a prison. She has three children and 7 grandchildren and lives in Enniskillen Northern Ireland.
