On certain occasions the price one must pay in personal relationships involves the expenditure of money in addition to any emotional price extracted. Even the best of relationships will go sour if one is not mindfully present with that other someone when you’re together. The most expensive price in any relationship is T.I.M.E.E. (Time, Insight, Money, Exhilarating Exhaustion), but T.I.M.E.E. is an investment entirely of self for the benefit of self. At the risk of repeating myself, being selfish is good for your soul as it’s only by being selfishly joyous to ourselves in everything we do that we are able to give unselfishly anything to others of our spiritual overflow.
The starting point for humans in this journey is different from the horses’ starting point. Without considering whether it’s worthwhile investing in humans, from the moment of its birth, the horse stands ready to guide us in our equine-human relationship. Yet, before humans consider whether it’s worthwhile investing in the equine-human relationship we must first be convinced that the relationship is worth the price for the investment of T.I.M.E.E. that’s required.
There is no college degree offered in the equine-human relationship because the degree of learning is dependent on the individual. Every contact with a horse brings new insight and perspective into one’s life. Keep your mind open, your negative emotions at the gate, and you’ll learn what I mean.
The first lesson to learn is that your horse is never wrong. As you progress on your journey, this will be a self-realizing lesson.
The second lesson will be about truth. We say that a person can “walk in truth,” “speak the truth,” “hide the truth,” or even “hide from the truth.” But, the worst kind of truth is knowledge that is not true, as you will discover with your investment in Time and Insight.
