U.K. Copyright Registration

Figuring out how to copyright your work can be tricky. Technically as soon as you complete your manuscript it is copyrighted by you, but that doesn’t prevent someone else from stealing your work. The only way to fully protect your work is to register it with the U.K. Copyright Office. We do all the paperwork and registration for you so that is one less thing you need to worry about on your publishing journey.

What to expect:

• Approximately three weeks after your book goes live (or after the contract date if your title is already live), two copies of the book will be ordered and shipped to Balboa Press.
• Copyright forms will be filled out and shipped with the two copies of your book to the U.K. Copyright Office.
• Anywhere from six to 12 months later Balboa Press will receive a completed Certificate of Registration.
• Balboa Press will record your U.K. Copyright number and then mail the original certificate to you.
